The Ministry of Trade and Integration of Kazakhstan has published a List of Certain Types of Goods, for which a Minimum Price Level will be applied from July 1, 2025, to September 30, 2025. Over the past three years, sunflower oil production in the country has grown 2.5 times, exports have increased 4.8 times, and imported packaged oil has decreased by 11%, according to the Ministry of Trade and Integration of Kazakhstan. For the first time, the republic has entered the TOP-10 largest sunflower oil exporters in the world, taking 8th place based on 2024 results. Kazakhstan has also entered the top three leading suppliers of sunflower meal to the European Union — a key livestock product in demand in dozens of countries. According to the Ministry of Trade, export revenue from the sale of oils, meal, and cake in the last season reached $562 million. In the coming years, Kazakhstan plans to increase this indicator to $1 billion annually. As explained in the department, such growth will be possible through a gradual shift in crop priorities — from wheat to more profitable oilseed crops, primarily sunflower.
