조지아 헤이즐넛 수출 시장 (12월, 2022)

Georgian hazelnut producers are aiming to boost their annual production by 40,000 tons, reaching a total of 100,000 tons, as they tap into the potential of improving yield per hectare. Currently, the country has 70,000 hectares dedicated to walnut orchards, resulting in a harvest of 40,000 tons. However, the per-hectare yield varies greatly, with industrial farms producing up to three times as much as small farms. Despite challenges such as insect pests, lack of storage and drying infrastructure, and poor maintenance in Western Georgia, efforts are being made to improve and expand the sector. These efforts include building new storage facilities, combating marble bugs, facilitating access to credit and financial assistance for small farmers, and developing a well-established hazelnut processing infrastructure.
