The Spain-France-Italy mixed committee representing the major wine producers in the European Union has called on the European Commission to ensure that wine products are not discriminated against in the EU's food promotion policies. The committee, which includes the Director Generals of International Policy and the European Union, Economic and Environmental Development of Companies, and Agricultural Production and Markets from the Ministries of Italy, France, and Spain respectively, and the main representative organizations of the sector from the three countries, discussed the market situation, wine and health, promotion policies, sustainability, and geographical indications at a meeting in Rome. They also emphasized the need for the adoption of a delegated regulation on the ingredients of wine products and requested detailed monitoring of the geographical indications regulation negotiation to reinforce the quality system in the wine sector.
