The Peruvian Government, led by Minister Roberto Sánchez, is committing to boosting the cocoa production and export chain, following a record $304 million in exports of cocoa and its derivatives in 2021. This initiative aims to support thousands of Peruvian families involved in cocoa production and includes plans for increasing added value to the product and enhancing producer capacities. The government is also launching the second call for the Internationalization Support Program (PAI), offering non-reimbursable funds to help companies export, and is supporting the development of the cocoa chain through various regions. This support comes as cocoa has become a high-quality, award-winning Peruvian product, with a declaration as National Heritage in 2012 and the annual celebration of the 'Day of Cocoa and Chocolate' since 2013.
