However, the sector is facing challenges such as a 100% increase in export costs due to container shortages and higher fleet costs, as well as competition from other South Hemisphere citrus-producing nations like Chile and South Africa. Argentinian lemon producers, primarily in the northwest provinces of Tucumán, Jujuy, and Salta, have been diversifying their export markets, with a notable increase in exports to the U.S. and Canada. Despite challenges, the fresh lemon exports have seen profitability, but the industry's competitiveness has been affected by increased production costs and logistical issues.
