Hatay, a key agricultural hub in Turkey, is expecting to harvest 4,500 tons of peaches from an area of 7 thousand decares despite frost damage reducing last year's yield. The majority of the classic and flat peaches grown are exported to Europe, the Middle East, and Russia, with 15-20% kept for the domestic market. Flat peaches, a relatively new variety, are particularly popular in Russia. Serkan Ak, a producer, expects to yield around 3 tons per decare from his 80 decares of land and emphasizes the care taken in selection and production of the flat peaches for both domestic and international markets.
