In the first four months of 2022, Colombia's cattle, meat, and dairy exports experienced a significant surge, generating revenue of over $204.69 million, a 36.9% increase compared to the same period in 2021. This growth is predominantly due to a substantial rise in live cattle exports, primarily to the Middle East, especially Egypt, which has doubled its 2021 purchases. Despite this growth, meat and offal exports have seen a decline, and dairy exports, while still increasing from previous years, have experienced a decrease in one specific period. The exports of various dairy products, including cheeses and powdered milk, contributed to a total of 278 tons for an FOB value of $589,000, which accounts for 15% of the total income.
