On October 26, a batch of CIIE exhibits from France arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport, including fresh apples, apple juice and soft-fleshed kiwifruit, weighing more than 1,200 kilograms. Soft-fleshed kiwifruit, also known as kiwi berry, is the smallest and coldest variety in the kiwi genus. In April 2023, the General Administration of Customs of China issued the "Announcement on Plant Quarantine Requirements for Importing Fresh Soft-fleshed Kiwifruit from France", and France became the first country to be allowed to export kiwi berries to China. This is also the first time that French kiwi berries have been exhibited at the CIIE. It is currently the French kiwi berry picking season. France Kiwifruit starts to be available in late October each year, and the production season can last until June of the following year. About 75% of kiwifruits are produced in the southwest of France, and 23% are produced in the southeast of France. According to the announcement of the General Administration of Customs, French kiwifruits must be cold-treated before they can be exported to China. The cold treatment temperature requirement is 1.1°C or below (pulp temperature), for more than 14 consecutive days; or 1.7°C or below (pulp temperature), for more than 16 consecutive days; or 2.1°C or below (pulp temperature), for more than 18 consecutive days. In August 2024, Peru exported 427 tons of pineapple worth $2.2 million, which represented a decrease of 22.4% in volume, but a slight increase of 0.7% in value compared to the same month of the previous year. Despite the drop in volume, August was positioned as the second best month of 2024 for shipments of this product. According to FreshFruit, the average price had a growth of 29.7%, trading at $5.1 per kilogram. Pineapple shipments showed a new geographical distribution in this period, doubling the destinations reached (8 countries). The United States remained the main importer, representing 72.5% of the total exported), with purchases for $1.6 million and 176 tons. The average price was $8.98 per kilogram, driven mainly by the higher costs of dehydrated pineapple. Canada (19.8%) ranked second, importing pineapple worth $432,000 equivalent to 169 tons, at an average price of $2.55 per ton.

From January to August 2024, Peru's passion fruit shipments abroad totaled 13,726 tons for US$ 46 million, which represented a 5% growth in volume, but with a -9% drop in value. This was due to the fact that passion fruit prices fell by almost -14%, averaging US$ 3.39 per kilogram. There was practically no export as a fresh product (1%). Everything was processed (67%) or frozen (32%). Of the 35 countries to which Peruvian fruit arrived, the Netherlands was the main destination, with 5,618 tons purchased for a value of US$ 21 million, which represented a 13% growth in volume, but with a -5% reduction in value. Regarding price, it was reduced by more than 16%, averaging US$ 3.68 per kilogram. The second place went to the United States, with 2,735 tons shipped for a value of US$ 10 million, which meant a growth of 24% in volume and 9% in value.
