Export market for Cocoa Bean in Ecuador (12월, 2022)

Major cocoa industries in Brazil, including Barry Callebaut, Cargill, and Olam, have imported significantly less cocoa from Africa this year, with the lowest volume in five years at 11,034 tons from January to October. They are instead focusing on purchasing more domestic cocoa, mainly from Bahia, Pará, Espírito Santo, and Rondônia. The industries plan to receive 230,000 tons of national cocoa in five years, aligning with Brazil's self-sufficiency goal by 2025. Domestic cocoa reception has increased by 10.5% in October compared to September, with the potential to exceed 200,000 tons this year. Despite lower imports, prices for domestic cocoa have not improved, but there has been a slight recovery in recent months.
