Export market for Fresh Cherry in Uzbekistan (12월, 2022)

Uzbekistan's fruit and vegetable industry experienced significant challenges in 2022 due to adverse weather conditions, including unexpected rainfall and extreme heat, impacting the harvest and prices of various crops. The country saw decreased production of stone fruits like almonds, apricots, and cherries due to weather anomalies, leading to high prices and limited exports. On the other hand, high yields of several fruits resulted in low prices and a record export volume. The summer heatwave also affected tomato prices and apple quality. A surge in carrot prices, followed by a shift to onions, and increased cabbage exports were notable events. Import volumes of potatoes and bananas may decrease, and there was an attempt to diversify international transport routes amidst geopolitical changes. Additionally, Uzbekistan has begun to focus on groundwater protection.
