In 2022, the fishing and fish farming industry in Russia experienced an 18% revenue growth, reaching 589.03 billion rubles, as reported by the All-Russian Association of Fishermen (VARPE). This increase is largely due to a good catch in 2021, with salmon making up 538.8 thousand tons. However, the growth rate decreased compared to 2021 due to low salmon fishing rates, decreased catch volumes for various aquatic resources, and a reduction in fish product exports to the Republic of Korea and the USA. The industry's 'Processing and preservation of fish, crustaceans and mollusks' turnover for the fourth quarter is forecasted to be 103.1 billion rubles, with a possible range of 99.2 to 106.8 billion rubles.
