Export market for Other Frozen Pork Cuts in Paraguay (12월, 2022)

Paraguay's pork exports are expected to increase in 2023 due to the resumption of shipments to Russia and the approval of pork sales to Taiwan. The resumption of pork exports to Russia, despite transportation costs increasing by almost 400%, is seen as positive news, as Russia is a key market for Paraguayan animal protein. The meat exported to Russia is mainly boneless and consists of three cuts. Paraguay has also increased its biosecurity standards to meet the demands of the Russian market. The pork sales to Taiwan, which have been approved after four years of work, are also expected to boost exports. The President of the National Animal Health and Quality Service, José Carlos Martín Camperchioli, stated that the prices of pork are rising but it still remains cheaper than beef, and that opening new markets will not impact domestic prices.
