Import market for Barley in China (6월, 2022)

Since February 2021, Russia has been operating a mechanism of export duty on grain, which has led to a stable domestic food market and a strong export potential. The country is expected to have a record wheat harvest of 89.2 million tons due to improved weather conditions, with an export potential of 42.3-41 million tons for the 2022-2023 agricultural year. The export duty was introduced to stabilize domestic food prices and protect the domestic market, with collected funds returned to regions. Despite concerns that the duty may reduce crop areas, experts believe that the area for harvesting will increase due to low winter-spring death of crops.
