Import market for Black Pepper in Philippines (6월, 2022)

Vietnam's pepper exports experienced a decline in volume but an increase in value in May 2022, with the average export price reaching $4,504 per ton, a 31.4% increase from the previous year. From January to May 2022, the country's pepper exports totaled 99,540 tons, valued at $460.54 million, marking a 17.8% decrease in volume but a 21.6% increase in value year-over-year. The global pepper market is expected to recover as Chinese cities lift restrictions, despite challenges such as high energy prices and inflation from geopolitical tensions in Eastern Europe. China, as the world's largest pepper consumer, has increased its pepper imports from Vietnam, making it the country's second-largest pepper supplier to China in the first four months of 2022.
