In the week ending June 23, 2022, US corn exports experienced a significant decline, with 88,800 tonnes of the 2021/22 crop sold, marking the lowest volume of the commercial year and an 87% decrease from the previous week. Despite this, the 2022/23 harvest already has contracts for 119,300 tonnes. The total shipments for the period amounted to 1.254 million tons, showing a 9% increase from the previous week but a 9% decrease from the average of the previous four weeks. The main destinations included Japan, Mexico, China, South Korea, and Guatemala. The overall volume fell short of analysts' expectations, which anticipated between 400 thousand tons and 1 million tons.
