Smugglers attempted to evade customs duties in Kazakhstan by misdeclaring high-tax goods, replacing fresh cherries with apricots in customs documents, which are significantly cheaper. On May 29, smugglers were caught trying to evade 58 tons of undeclared goods, including rice, rose hips, and raisins, at the 'Saryagash station' customs post. Since the beginning of the year, customs checks have revealed numerous cases of non-declaration of over 1,000 tons of goods, leading to accountability for those involved in these violations.
