Import market for Rice in Azerbaijan (6월, 2022)

A farm in the Kizlyar region of Dagestan, Russia, has successfully sown 720 hectares of wheat, rice, and pumpkin, thanks to state support for water supply and subsidies. The completion of a bypass fish passage through the Kargaly hydroelectric complex in 2020 has allowed for consistent water supply for irrigation, resulting in an expected 15-17% increase in yield. Dagestan, which has 27,000 hectares under rice cultivation, mainly in the Kizlyar region, has established over 10 rice processing enterprises, processing 60-70% of the republic's rice production. The region is also planning to expand the area under crops to 40,000 hectares and has started exporting its rice to Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan, among other Middle Eastern countries.
