Import market for Wheat Flour in Sri Lanka (6월, 2022)

The Indian government is closely monitoring the surge in wheat flour exports, which have risen significantly since the ban on wheat shipments was imposed on May 13. Between April 1, 2022, and the end of May, 250,000 tonnes of wheat flour have been exported, a substantial increase from the usual 7,000 to 8,000 tonnes per month. The majority of these exports are going to Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Nepal. In the current fiscal year, India has exported nearly 3 million tonnes of wheat, setting a record for wheat exports. However, the ban has also impacted the Food Corporation of India's wheat procurement efforts, resulting in a decline of over 54% compared to the previous year.
