1 Production, trade and prices of livestock products in major countries
(I) Pork
In terms of production, the US pork production in October was 1.149 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 5.2%; the pork production from January to October was 10.445 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 2.5%.
In terms of trade, in October, the pork exports of the United States and Brazil both increased year-on-year. From January to October, the US pork exports were 2.643 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 4.7%, and the Brazilian pork exports were 1.083 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 9.2%.
In terms of price, the US pork price continued to rise. According to the exchange rate of the same period, the wholesale price of pork cuts in November was 15.48 yuan/kg. The EU pork price continued to fall. According to the exchange rate of the same period, the pork price in November was 14.75 yuan/kg. kilograms. Brazilian pork prices continued to rise, at a high level for the same period. Converted at the same exchange rate, the Brazilian pork price in November was 18.40 yuan/kg.
(II) Poultry
In terms of production, the US poultry production in October was 2.233 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 3.8%. From January to October, the poultry production was 20.135 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 0.5%.
In terms of trade, in October, US chicken exports fell year-on-year, while Brazilian chicken exports increased year-on-year. From January to October, US chicken exports were 2.534 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 7.5%, and Brazilian chicken exports were 4.276 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 1.7%.
In terms of price, US chicken prices remained flat, at a high level for the same period. Converted at the same exchange rate, the chicken price in November was 22.94 RMB/kg. The price of chicken in the EU fell slightly, but remained at a high level during the same period. The price of chicken in November was RMB 21.22/kg, converted at the exchange rate during the same period. The price of chicken in Brazil continued to rise. The price of chicken in November was RMB 9.45/kg, converted at the exchange rate during the same period.
(III) Beef
In terms of production, the US beef production in October was 1.102 million tons, up 5.4% year-on-year. The beef production from January to October was 10.099 million tons, up 0.4% year-on-year.
In terms of trade, US beef exports in October fell year-on-year, while Brazilian and Australian beef exports increased year-on-year. From January to October, US beef exports were 1.130 million tons, down 2.5% year-on-year, Brazilian beef exports were 2.387 million tons, up 29.4% year-on-year, and Australian beef exports were 2.387 million tons, up 29.4% year-on-year. Australia exported 1.097 million tons of beef, up 24.4% year-on-year.
In terms of price, the price of US beef continued to fall, but still remained at a high level. According to the exchange rate of the same period, the price of beef in November was 53.62 yuan/kg. The price of Brazilian beef continued to rise. According to the exchange rate of the same period, the price of beef in November was 35.03 yuan/kg.
(IV) Lamb
In October, Australia exported 60,000 tons of lamb (54,000 tons of sheep meat and 6,000 tons of goat meat), up 9.1% year-on-year. From January to October, lamb exports were 547,000 tons (505,000 tons of sheep meat and 42,000 tons of goat meat), up 17.9% year-on-year; of which lamb exports to China were 113,000 tons, down 18.9% year-on-year.
