The Association of Banana Exporters of Ecuador (AEBE) has reported a 7.09% decrease in banana exports in the first five months of 2022 compared to the same period in 2021, with a total of 158.92 million boxes. Russia was the largest recipient, followed by the Northern European Union. However, there was a decrease in exports to the US, Africa, and the UK. The Middle East and Asia reported an increase in imports. Ubesa was the leading exporter, followed by Reybanpac and Noboa trading. While some companies like Exporbananas, Luderson, and Noboa trading saw growth, others like Chiquita Banana Ecuador, Frutical, and Frutadeli experienced a decline.
