Coffee prices have surged due to the US Federal Reserve's decision to increase interest rates, causing the dollar to dive. Both Robusta and Arabica coffee prices in the London and New York derivatives markets have seen significant gains. However, high coffee prices and modest economic growth are leading to a decrease in global consumption. The International Coffee Organization predicts a global coffee supply deficit of approximately 3.1 million bags for the 2021-2022 crop year. Despite this, Vietnam's coffee exports have experienced a notable increase in both volume and value in the first five months of 2022, reaching 881.56 thousand tons and worth 1.98 billion USD.
