The Association of Indonesian Coffee Exporters and Industry (AEKI) reported that despite a significant rise in global coffee prices, exporters have not been significantly impacted. The price of coffee futures for July 2022 was at $2.26 per pound, marking a 44.10% increase from the previous year. The double in farm level prices due to high fertilizer costs has helped coffee farmers. However, high global prices have led to a decrease in demand, with international traders only buying for short-term delivery. Indonesia exports an average of 6-6.5 million sacks of coffee annually, mainly to the US, Germany, Malaysia, Japan, Egypt, and Italy, with robusta coffee making up most of the exports.
