Russian Agricultural Products Export Development Center: Russia is China's second largest candy supplier
In 2024, Russia will supply 34,000 tons of confectionery products to China, including 23,000 tons of chocolate, 10,000 tons of pasta and bread products, and 1,000 tons of sugar products. Last year, Russia's candy exports to China were second only to Indonesia, which supplied 72,000 tons. Italy ranked third with a supply of 21,000 tons. The Russian Agricultural Products Export Development Center pointed out that in 2024, Russia ranked first among chocolate product exporters to China (23,000 tons). Italy ranked second (13,600 tons), and Belgium ranked third (0.9 million tons). In October 2024, Chinese Ambassador to Russia Zhang Hanhui stated at the China-Russia Agricultural Cooperation Forum that the trade volume of agricultural products between China and Russia reached an unprecedented 11.4 billion U.S. dollars in 2023, a year-on-year increase of 33%. Zhang Hanhui pointed out that Chinese agricultural enterprises are actively investing in Russian agriculture, with a total of 255 joint projects and an investment of more than 11 billion U.S. dollars. In 2024, the investment will reach 170 million U.S. dollars. Russia and China mainly cooperate in the production of soybeans, corn and other crops, greenhouse vegetable cultivation, livestock and poultry farming.
