Russian condiments, spices, and snack products must be mandatorily labeled with digital tags starting July 1st
According to the latest news from Russian media alta.ru, based on the resolution of the Russian Federal Government No. 1682, starting from July 1, 2025, domestically produced and exported Russian seasonings, spices, and snack products must be mandatorily labeled with digital tags.
The resolution covers product categories including dried vegetables, herbs and cinnamon, nutmeg, ready-to-eat soups, meat broths or their preparation ingredients, vinegar and its alternatives, seasoning raw materials and seasonings, potato chips, french fries, and other items.
The Russian digital labeling system (Honest Label) has been officially implemented since 2019, aimed at combating the circulation of illegal food products. Currently, the system already covers caviar, dairy products, bottled water, non-alcoholic beverages, tobacco, beer, shoes, light industrial goods, fur coats, tires, perfumes, cameras, medical devices, wheelchairs, disinfectants, dietary supplements, medicines, cosmetics, household chemicals, snack groceries, pet food, as well as canned meat, mushrooms, berries, fruits, and fruit and vegetable products.
