An Khe Sugar Factory has a policy to support crop conversion from the 2024-2025 crop to the 2026-2027 crop for areas growing other crops converted to sugarcane.

The Vietnamese sugar industry has led the region in sugar productivity for the first time, according to the Vietnam Sugarcane and Sugar Association (VSSA).

According to the Vietnam Sugar Association, the mechanization rate of tillage and land preparation is over 90%. However, the mechanization rate of weeding, fertilization and routine care is still low. Some large enterprises in various places have invested in mechanization from land preparation to harvesting, which has improved production efficiency and reduced production costs. At present, there are more than 50 sugarcane combine harvesters in the country, and the proportion of mechanized sugarcane planting accounts for about 15%. Many sugar factories promote the application of sugarcane irrigation technologies such as sprinkler irrigation and drip irrigation. Solar mobile water pumps are used in many areas. The productivity and quality of sugarcane in sugarcane planting areas that have invested in appropriate routine care and irrigation technology have increased significantly. and economic benefits have been significantly improved. Many sugar companies have introduced new 4.0 technology solutions from the United States, Australia and other countries through technology transfer programs to digitally transform sugar factory management. In addition, the Sugarcane Research Institute has introduced 23 new sugarcane varieties. The above measures have increased Vietnam's sugarcane production by 166% and sugar production by 161%, bringing Vietnam's sugar production to 6.79 tons of sugar/hectare in 2023-2024. Compared with major sugarcane producers in the ASEAN region such as Thailand, Indonesia and the Philippines, Vietnam's sugarcane industry has ranked first in the region for the first time in terms of sugar production.
