Export market for Fresh Potato in Kazakhstan (11월, 2022)

Between January and October of 2022, Uzbekistan imported 404.1 thousand tons of potatoes from 16 countries, spending a total of $65.9 million. This marks a 14.7 thousand ton increase from the previous year. The main countries of origin for these imports were Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, and the Netherlands. Meanwhile, Uzbekistan's own potato production saw a 6.6% increase compared to the same period last year, with a total of 2.6 million tons grown in the first nine months. The Ministry of Agriculture of Uzbekistan also reported that the potato planting area for the 2022 harvest increased by 55%, covering 243,000 hectares, and the forecasted crop volume for 2022 is 4.1 million tons, which is a 26% increase from 2021.
