Export market for Wheat Flour in Kazakhstan (11월, 2022)

Kazakh grain traders are concerned that the Central Asian market may shift to Russian grain due to potential changes in export duties or transit railway tariffs. The risk is particularly high in Uzbekistan and Afghanistan, with the example of Kyrgyzstan's market already showing the impact of Russian flour and wheat. Despite Russia's large grain harvest, not all regions may be interested in exporting to Kazakhstan. However, Russian grain's lower price has been slightly offset by increased logistics costs. In contrast, Afghan flour millers are actively purchasing Kazakh flour at a lower price at the 'Saryagash' station. Kazakh flour millers are satisfied with the season so far, planning to increase exports to 1.9 million tons by the end of the year, with a goal of 2.2-2.4 million tons next year, but their success will depend on government support.
