Export market for Wheat Flour in Ukraine (11월, 2022)

Preliminary data from the Federal Information Center for Agriculture in Germany reveals a significant shift in the country's cereal consumption during the 2021/22 marketing year. Domestic consumption dropped by nearly four million tons to 39 million tons, with a decrease of 4.6 percentage points in grain used for feed. Meanwhile, food production and industrial and energy use accounted for approximately 23% and 18% of grain consumption, respectively. Despite a lower harvest, Germany managed to meet its domestic demand for cereals, with a self-sufficiency rate of 100% for common wheat, 133% for barley, and 17% for durum wheat. This shift in consumption and the ability to meet demand, even with a lower harvest, highlight adjustments within the German cereal market.
