Russian Agricultural Products Export Development Center: In the first half of 2025, China's imports of sparkling wine from Russia increased 27 times to 262,000 liters.
According to data from the General Administration of Customs of China, from January to June 2025, China imported approximately 262,000 liters of sparkling wine from Russia, valued at 730,000 U.S. dollars. In the same period last year, China purchased 9,500 liters, valued at 425,000 U.S. dollars. The Center for the Development of Agricultural Exports of the Russian Federation stated on its Telegram channel that compared to the same period last year, China's imports of sparkling wine from Russia increased nearly 27 times in volume and 16 times in value.
Among the top five countries exporting sparkling wine to China in the first half of 2025, Russia ranked fourth, with Italy ranking first (1.9 million liters), France (671,000 liters) and Spain (619,000 liters) ranking second and third, respectively, and Australia (166,000 liters) ranking fifth.
From January to June 2025, Russia exported over 1,800 tons of wine, valued at approximately 2.6 million U.S. dollars. In the same period last year, the export volume exceeded 1,500 tons, valued at approximately 2.2 million U.S. dollars. Compared to the same period in 2024, the export volume increased by 16% and the export value increased by 19% in 2025 from January to June. According to the Center for the Development of Agricultural Exports of Russia, the three countries importing the most Russian wine in terms of volume are China, Kazakhstan, and Turkey.
According to statistics from the General Administration of Customs of China, China imported approximately 450,000 liters of wine from Russia within the half-year period.
