Recently, the impact of climate change is hitting agricultural fields like a direct blow worldwide. Among these, Fire Blight has emerged as a terrifying enemy threatening rose family fruit trees such as apples, pears, and hawthorns. Since first being reported in the United States in the 18th century, Fire Blight has spread globally, and in Korea, it has shown an expanding trend every year since its first occurrence in the Gyeongbuk region in 2015. The problem goes beyond a simple pest issue, approaching more critically as it intertwines with the climate crisis and the vulnerability of agricultural ecosystems.

During the apple harvesting and packing season, the Agricultural and Livestock Service of Ñuble increased the number of sampling of apple boxes destined for the export market, both for the United States market operating through the USDA program and for countries in the rest of the world through the Origin program. Both programs guarantee that our apples arrive free of quarantine pests and diseases, reaffirming the excellent phytosanitary condition of our products, one of the pillars of national exports.
