[Provided by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs] (Seoul=Yonhap News) Reporter Han Ju-hong = The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs announced on the 6th that 35 rural tourism businesses have been selected through the 'Small-Scale Rural Experience Program Development Support Project'. This project supports the development of customized programs to enable small group travelers such as families, couples, and friends to have various experiences in the countryside. This year, a total of 113 businesses applied, and after document and on-site reviews, the selection was made. Recently, new travel forms such as 'chonkangs' (holidays in the countryside) and 'workation' (remote work on vacation) have been spreading, and the countryside is being noticed as a space where rest and work can be combined. In response, the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs is supporting the development of various rural experience programs that reflect diverse demands. The selected programs include 'Blueberry Wellness Trip' in Inje County, Gangwon Province, 'Local Food Experience with Local Residents' in Paju City, Gyeonggi Province, and 'A Day in the Life of a Shepherd' in Jeju City, and they are composed of four types: healing, food and drink, trekking-linked, and lifestyle exploration. The selected businesses will receive expert advice for program planning and pilot operation, as well as support for promotion, marketing, and listing on online travel platforms. The newly developed programs are scheduled to be operated sequentially starting next month.
