Export market for Durum Wheat in Ukraine (12월, 2022)

Cereal prices in Spain have been experiencing a consistent decline for the past six weeks, making it a total of six consecutive weeks of price drops. Despite the current price increases being higher than the same period last year, except for durum wheat which is cheaper, the national market is seeing significant reductions in cereal prices. The drops vary from 5 to 8 euros per ton across different markets. This trend is attributed to slow operations, immediate demand, and concerns about the economic recession in Europe. Additionally, the competitiveness of Russian and Ukrainian origins, further reinforced by the depreciation of the ruble, plays a significant role in the situation. In Ukraine, the government is prioritizing the agricultural sector, considering it crucial for energy supply amidst the challenging times.
