In Ukraine, as the New Year approaches, there has been a noticeable increase in the prices of key agricultural products such as onions, cucumbers, and bananas. This price hike is attributed to various factors including the sale of low-quality onions by farmers, limited supply of imported cucumbers, and a significant surge in demand for bananas. Specifically, banana prices have seen a dramatic 20% increase over the past week. Market analysts predict that onions are likely to experience the most significant price rise among all vegetables post-New Year, due to limited stocks available to farmers. Although, it is anticipated that the prices for greenhouse vegetables like cucumbers and tomatoes may slightly increase for the holiday period, but the demand for these vegetables is expected to decrease post-holidays.
