Export market for Sunflower Seed in Turkiye (12월, 2022)

Russia is on track to set a new record in oilseed collection for the current agricultural year, reaching between 28.4-29.3 million tons, a significant increase from the previous year's record of 2021. This includes a record harvest of 6.3 million tons of soybeans, 4.7 million tons of rapeseed, and an estimated 15.5-16.25 million tons of sunflower, despite weather challenges and unharvested crops due to autumn rain. However, concerns about the quality of the sunflower harvest and the lack of suitable processing raw materials persist. In the Far East, soybean yield is at record highs, but export growth is hampered by transportation limitations and ongoing lockdowns in China. Meanwhile, rapeseed export restrictions will likely be extended from March 2023, and the increase in production is expected to be 13% in September-December, reaching 0.53 million tons.
