Russian pork exports increase 36% to 204,600 tons in first 11 months of this year
The news said: "In the first 11 months of 2024, the Russian Veterinary and Phytosanitary Supervision Service pointed out that the export of most types of livestock products showed a positive growth trend. Compared with the same period last year, the export volume of pig and cattle by-products increased by 39% - from 45,500 tons to 63,300 tons; pork exports increased by 36%, from 150,200 tons to 204,600 tons; beef exports increased by 27%, from 29,700 tons to 37,600 tons; meat and poultry by-product exports increased by 23%, from 294,100 tons to 360,500 tons; meat finished product exports increased by 19%, from 69,200 tons to 82,400 tons."
The Russian Veterinary and Phytosanitary Supervision Service pointed out that livestock products are currently sold to more than 105 countries in the world. To the Eurasian Economic Union , CIS member states, and Middle Eastern and African countries are the main driving force behind the increase in meat export indicators. In addition, in 2024, more than 450 Russian companies have obtained permission to supply products to the Chinese, Iranian, UAE, Korean, and Saudi Arabian markets.
The agency also said that in addition to the increase in meat product exports, dairy product exports increased by 18% to 185,200 tons. At the same time, the export volume of some products has declined. Fish and seafood exports fell by 25% to 1.57 million tons; mutton exports fell by 25% to 7,600 tons, and horse meat exports fell by 12% to 1,700 tons.
The news also shows that the agency is continuing to work with other countries' systems to obtain electronic certificates for import and export animal quarantine.
