Russia's supply volume is 31,823 tons, a year-on-year increase of 37%, while the United States' supply volume decreased by 13% to 37,632 tons.
Russia currently accounts for 46% of the total fish paste import volume in these three major markets.
Japan, China, and South Korea are the largest importers of frozen pollock fish paste.
As the largest importer, Japan imported 40,065 tons from January to May, remaining stable compared to the same period last year. Among this, imports from the United States decreased by 12% to 30,809 tons, while imports from Russia increased 1.7 times to 9,256 tons.
China, as the second-largest importer, saw import volume grow by 7% to 17,441 tons. Imports from the United States halved to 771 tons, while imports from Russia increased by 12% to 16,670 tons.
This year, China has surpassed South Korea to become the second-largest importer of pollock fish paste. Russia's fish paste exports to China have been particularly notable, with China importing 25,273 tons of Russian pollock fish paste in 2024, a year-on-year increase of 1.5 times, becoming Russia's largest importer.
South Korea, as the third-largest importer, saw cumulative imports increase by 20% to 11,949 tons from January to May. Imports from the United States decreased by 13% to 6,053 tons, while imports from Russia doubled to 5,896 tons.
