The corn stunt complex has returned to the center of producers' concerns. The occurrence of plants with severe symptoms in the Midwest, Southeast, and South regions of Brazil has raised the alarm for a silent but highly destructive pest: the corn leafhopper (Dalbulus maidis). Responsible for the transmission of the phyllody and virosis that cause pale stunt, red stunt, and streak virus, this insect has the potential to cause productivity losses ranging from 20% to 70%, reaching total crop failure in extreme situations.
