Đắk Lắk was the first to bring Vietnamese Robusta specialty coffee to the world.
On December 13 in the afternoon, the Vietnam-Korea Specialty Coffee Trade Experience Exchange Meeting was held in Bong Mi Thuong Town, Dak Lak Province, Vietnam. The event was attended by the chairman of Coffee Myungga, the president of the Daegu Coffee Association (DCA), the founder and former president of the Specialty Coffee Association of Korea (SCAK) Mr. Ahn Myung-kyu, and representatives from Dak Lak Province's leading coffee export company and the president of the Bong Mi Thuong Coffee Association, Mr. Zheng De Ming. At the meeting, Mr. Zheng De Ming, the president of the Bong Mi Thuong Coffee Association, and Mr. Li De Hui, the chairman of the board of directors of Simexco Dak Lak Co., Ltd., introduced the establishment history of the Bong Mi Thuong Coffee Association, the Vietnam Specialty Coffee Competition, and the roles of the Bong Mi Thuong Coffee Association and Simexco Dak Lak in promoting the internationalization of Vietnamese specialty coffee and enhancing its value chain. Mr. Ahn Myung-kyu introduced the development of the Daegu Coffee Association and the Specialty Coffee Association of Korea. Worthy of note is that during the event, the founder of the Vietnamese specialty coffee brand Miss Ede signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Coffee Myungga, the oldest specialty coffee chain brand in Korea with over 35 years of development history. This event marks the first commercialization of Vietnamese Robusta specialty coffee and its entry into the sales system of Korea's long-established specialty coffee chain, while also promoting Vietnamese Robusta specialty coffee to the international market. According to the cooperation content, the two parties will comprehensively develop the value chain, including: selecting high-quality Vietnamese Robusta specialty coffee raw materials, developing products that meet Korean consumers' tastes, and distributing them through Korea's high-end specialty coffee chain, retail system, and e-commerce channels. This cooperation not only has commercial significance but is also a strategic step for Vietnamese specialty coffee to reposition its value on the international specialty coffee map. Mr. Huang Ming You, the founder of the Miss Ede brand, stated that starting from May 2025, Miss Ede will become the second brand in Dak Lak Province to export fully packaged finished coffee to the Korean market. After completing strict requirements such as food safety, traceability, technical standards, and export labels, Miss Ede will officially enter the Korean market. The export of Miss Ede is not limited to raw materials but includes exporting finished coffee under the Vietnamese brand, helping to increase the added value of Dak Lak Province and even the Vietnamese coffee industry. In addition to traditional exports, Miss Ede has already officially settled on Coupang, Korea's largest e-commerce platform, allowing Vietnamese specialty coffee products to directly reach Korean consumers through online channels, aligning with the country's mainstream consumption trends. In 2025, Miss Ede will, with the active support of the Vietnamese Embassy in Korea, the Vietnamese Trade Office in Korea, and the Dak Lak Province Industry and Trade Office, continue to participate in major food and beverage exhibitions in Korea every month. These systematic trade promotion activities are helping Miss Ede expand its international partner network and promote Dak Lak Province and Vietnam in a professional and sustainable manner in the Korean market.
