Export duty rates on wheat, barley, and corn will be zero for the second consecutive week starting from April 29, according to the Ministry of Agriculture. They will be in effect through May 5 inclusive.

The International Grains Council (IGC) has raised its estimate of global grain production in the 2025/2026 season by 4 million tons to 2,474 million tons, mainly due to an increase in the estimated corn crop in Argentina. From July 2025 (the beginning of the agricultural season) to mid-April of this year, Russia exported 330 thousand tons of corn to China, which is twice as much as in the same period last season (153 thousand tons), reports the federal center "Agroexport". It notes, however, that the current export is almost approaching the volume of supplies for the entire previous season - 358 thousand tons. The center's analysts attribute this demand to three key factors. First of all, it is the partial recovery of demand for corn imports, as well as China's desire for a more diversified import structure and an increased quota for Russian grain exports compared to the previous season. Meanwhile, as the center reports, the current volumes of corn purchases by China are incomparable to the 2023/24 season, when, according to the Chinese General Administration of Customs, around 24.7 million tons were imported.
