Under the instructions of the Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, Dr. Alaa El-Din Farouk, the Agricultural Quarantine received a Malaysian delegation yesterday to review the plant health procedures in preparation for the entry of Egyptian mangoes into Malaysia. The delegation began its visit today by visiting the Egyptian Agricultural Quarantine to view the quarantine inspection and control systems, where Dr. Mohamed El-Mansi, Head of the Central Administration of Agricultural Quarantine, welcomed the delegation and presented the procedures taken by the Agricultural Quarantine. The delegation headed to visit one of the mango packing stations, where the delegation will complete the remaining days of visits to farms and packing stations approved and coded by the Agricultural Quarantine in order to establish plant health controls at the end of the visit to export fresh mangoes from Egypt to Malaysia. The delegation and Dr. Mohamed El-Mansi thanked the officials in charge of the plant health files, the Egyptian Commercial Representation Authority, which coordinated the visit, in addition to the Export Council for Agricultural Crops.

It is worth noting that mango exports ranked seventh in exports with a total of 55,792 tons of total Egyptian agricultural exports exceeding 6.1 million tons from the beginning of the year until now, with a value exceeding $3.6 billion, an increase of $800 million and 400 thousand tons over the same period last year from January 1 to September 4, 2024.
