With a percentage of 42.9%, pomegranate is at the forefront of Egyptian fruit exports during the week
Three types of fruits dominated 83% of Egypt's total fruit exports last week, according to an analysis conducted by Al Mal of data issued by the National Food Safety Authority, today, Sunday, October 20, 2024.
Pomegranate topped the list of exported fruits last week with a total of 15 thousand tons, representing 42.9%, followed by mango with a total of 9 thousand tons, then lemon with a total of 5 thousand tons.
The analysis showed that exports of pomegranate, mango, and lemon dominated 35 other exported fruit types last week, with 29 thousand tons, while the total of all types recorded 35 thousand tons, according to the National Food Safety Authority report.
Sudan, Saudi Arabia, Morocco, and Yemen represented the largest countries receiving Egyptian exports last week out of a total of 170 importing countries.
The number of exported food shipments, according to the report of the General Administration Information Center for both exports and imports at the Authority, was 3,660 shipments, amounting to about 174 thousand tons, an increase of 31 thousand tons over the previous week, for 1,444 exporting companies, ranging from 605 types of flour, vegetables and various food products.
