Within the framework of the SIAL China food exhibition, currently taking place in Shanghai, the Argentine Beef Promotion Institute (IPCVA) has indicated that there could be developments for the long-awaited exports of bovine offal to that Asian giant.

Analysts say that the international beef average price in the first quarter of 2025 is expected to rise by 12%-15% year-on-year, but Argentina's beef exports stand in stark contrast to current international prices, with its continued export volume contraction potentially caused by domestic economic turmoil, insufficient competitiveness, and shifts in Chinese demand. Although the global beef market is filled with uncertainty, demand remains diverse and resilient, with a clear upward price trend. If Argentina fails to adjust its industry strategy and improve its domestic economic situation, it may further lose market share.

Argentina is already importing around 1,200 monthly tons of beef and over 5,000 tons of pork. Fueled by the super peso, food imports continue to grow and the trade surplus is being pulverized.
