Seosan Garlic Comes to Mind, Seosan Garlic I Want to Eat... Six-Clove Garlic Festival Opens
(Seosan=Yonhap News) Reporter Jeong Yun-deok = A festival featuring Seosan's six-clove garlic, known for its thick, solid bulbs, strong aroma, and excellent storage properties, opened on the 27th at Haemi Fortress.
The festival, with the theme "I Think of Seosan Garlic, I Want to Eat Seosan Garlic, Enjoy at the Seosan Six-Clove Garlic Festival," will continue until the 29th.
During the festival, various events are prepared, including sales of stem-attached garlic and local agricultural products, a premium six-clove garlic evaluation and exhibition, garlic-pulling games, and creating a "Wish Tree for Your Garlic."
Six-clove garlic can be purchased at prices ranging from 15,000 won for small to 52,000 won for king-size, depending on size.
Visitors can also enjoy various foods made with six-clove garlic, such as madeleines, ice cream, and coffee.
Seosan Mayor Lee Wan-seop said, "We hope this becomes an opportunity to elevate the value of local agricultural products and shed new light on agriculture."
Last year's festival attracted over 20,000 visitors, with six-clove garlic sales at the venue reaching approximately 150 million won.
Pre-festival reservation sales also generated around 160 million won.
An event offering six-clove garlic as prizes through a drawing for those submitting receipts from local restaurants or accommodations saw over 1,500 participants.
