Kakapita Customs in southeastern Nepal exports agricultural products worth Rs 18.5 billion in the first nine months of this fiscal year
The spokesperson of the bureau said that the main export commodities include cardamom, tea, plywood, veneer (veneer), ginger and tamarind. Among them, tea exports are the highest, reaching 8.41 billion rupees, cardamom exports are 5.63 billion rupees, and plywood and veneer exports are 2.87 billion rupees in total. During the same period, agricultural products worth 2.77 billion rupees were imported through the customs, including millet, peas, lentils, rice, fresh vegetables, fresh fruits, garlic, potatoes, corn and animal feed. Among them, the top three agricultural products in terms of import value are potatoes, millet and garlic, worth 365 million rupees, 145 million rupees and 63.8 million rupees respectively.
