From July 1 to 20, the Russian Federation exported 1.207 million tons of main grain and leguminous crops, which is 2.9 times less than during the same period last year, according to a monitoring report by the Russian Grain Union. As Elena Tyurina, director of the union's analytical department, told Interfax, only six types of these crops were exported, compared to 19 a year earlier. In particular, wheat shipments fell four times, to 604,000 tons from 2,446,000 tons a year ago, and barley dropped 2.2 times, to 290,000 tons from 647,000 tons. At the same time, corn exports grew by 13%, to 273,000 tons from 242,000 tons, respectively. According to her, wheat was shipped to 12 countries, compared to 38 a year ago.
