[Korea Farmers & Fishermen's News, Reporter Lee Jin-woo] The Korean Beef Self-Levy Committee announced that it will conduct a large-scale Korean beef discount event with major distributors such as Coupang, Trusted Hanwoo, and SSG.com on June 6, the 'Meat Meat Day'. As part of the '2025 Korean Beef Mutual Prosperity Week' campaign aimed at promoting beef consumption and fostering mutual growth between Korean beef farmers and consumers, various promotions will be held both online and offline. Coupang has already entered the event since the 2nd, with channel-specific events offering discounts up to 50% and repurchase coupons.

According to the Korea Rural Economic Research Institute's June livestock outlook, the wholesale price of Korean beef (hanwoo) is expected to exceed 19,000 won per kg based on steers due to a decrease in slaughter numbers. Pork prices are also forecast to rise slightly compared to the previous year. Despite a decrease in dairy cow population, milk production is expected to increase as high-productivity 3-4 lactation cows grow in number. Egg prices continue to rise, with production expected to decrease, while broiler chicken slaughter numbers are predicted to increase in June but decline again in July.

The Korea Livestock and Meat Management Committee collaborated with FC Seoul to promote the excellence of Korean pork to soccer match spectators. The committee held the '2025 Korean Pork Family Day' at Seoul World Cup Stadium on May 31st. This event, timed with the family month, combined national sport soccer with Korean pork through an experiential event aimed at delivering the taste and value of Korean pork in a more approachable manner to stadium visitors.
