Despite improvements in weather conditions in May, agricultural market analysts are lowering forecasts: rapeseed yields in Ukraine may become the lowest in the past four years. This conclusion was published by the company "UkrAgroConsult". As noted by oil market analyst Svitlana Kuprieieva, the situation with moisture provision remains critical. Despite rains that partially replenished productive moisture reserves in the meter-deep soil layer at the end of May, they did not compensate for the negative impact of prolonged spring and autumn drought. Among the main factors causing a decrease in rapeseed yields: reduction of yield potential due to unfavorable weather conditions; partial discing of crops; violation of agricultural technological work schedules. "UkrAgroConsult" is revising the basic rapeseed yield scenario downward, increasing the assessment of losses. Current forecasts indicate: the harvest will be lower than the average of the past three years and will become the minimum since 2021.
