Sunflower prices in Ukraine are falling amid a seasonal increase in supply and a drop in demand and prices for vegetable oils.

As of early May, grocery prices in Ukraine remain stable, however, some growth is recorded in certain categories. For example, sunflower oil has risen in price by 2% in a month – to 76.7 hryvnias per 850 ml. This is reported by the Ukrainian Agrarian Business Club (UKAB). Thus, the growth for the year was 30%. Experts recorded the highest price for sunflower oil this year in March – then it increased to 77.5 hryvnias per 850 ml. In retail chains, oil prices were then in the range from 31 hryvnias to 72.2 hryvnias per bottle. In April, prices decreased to 74.9 hryvnias. "In April, demand for raw materials from processing enterprises increased, but by the end of the month there should be enough raw materials for processing, which will stabilize prices in the future," say UKAB experts.
