The global corn market is under significant pressure after the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) released the January 2026 WASDE report with a "lower price" trend. This report confirms increased yields and end-of-season stocks in the United States, thereby weakening expectations for domestic demand growth, while also shifting market attention to weather developments in South America, particularly Brazil.

According to data released in the Weekly Weather and Crop Bulletin, published this Tuesday (10) by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), rains were widespread in much of Brazil, but remained scarce in agricultural areas of the Northeast and South. The USDA bulletin points out that these regions received little or no precipitation, below 10 millimeters, in contrast to other areas of the country, where volumes varied from 10 to 100 millimeters.

The analysis by the Grão Direto specialist, released this Monday (9), indicates that the release of the supply and demand report by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), scheduled for February 10, should bring greater clarity about the size of the U.S. crop and global stocks.
