60 Tons of Lychees Shipped to North America, Guangdong Lychee Export Officially Launched in 2025
On May 18, the First Guangdong Lychee Export Launch and Zhongli High-Quality Lychee Global Release Conference was held in Guangzhou, with 60 tons of fresh lychees departing from the Zhongli Group headquarters warehouse to North American regions.
According to reports, in recent years, Zhongli Group has exported lychees to European, American, Middle Eastern, Southeast Asian, and South American markets. This concentrated export of 60-plus tons of Guangdong lychees marks the comprehensive launch of Zhongli Group's 2025 Guangdong lychee export season, with expectations of a 30% increase in lychee exports this year.
Simultaneously, a key agricultural base in Gaozhou, Maoming, engaged in lychee exports, has also prepared nearly 10 tons of standardized packaged early-ripening Feizixiao lychee variety, ready for export to Australia after passing customs quarantine. In recent years, Maoming has vigorously promoted lychee preservation integrated technology, extending the preservation time of some lychee varieties from 6 days to 1 month. This year, Maoming has added 5 new export countries and regions, increasing the total to 22, with an anticipated 110% growth in lychee exports.
In the first three quarters of 2024, Guangdong Province's agricultural product exports reached 97.28 billion yuan, accounting for 18.6% of the national agricultural product export value during the same period. Among these, the Yuexi region where Zhanjiang Customs is located has rich agricultural resources, with local lychee, pineapple, and other specialty fruits exporting 8,189.2 tons, a 43% increase.
