China Becomes One of the Main Importing Countries for Agricultural Products in the Altai Territory by First Half of 2025
The Federal Center for Assessing the Safety and Quality of Russian Industrial and Agricultural Enterprises noted that in the first half of 2025, China ranked first in multiple agricultural product import categories from the Altai Border Region, including vegetable oil (174,500 tons), buckwheat (125,500 tons), oil cake (approximately 53,000 tons), flaxseed (49,000 tons), sunflower (nearly 17,000 tons), flour (12,500 tons), oatmeal (nearly 7,000 tons), and oil meal (about 7,000 tons).
Additionally, in the first half of 2025, countries importing agricultural products from the Altai Border Region included Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Mongolia, Iran, South Korea, and Japan.
In the first 6 months of 2025, the Altai Border Region exported a total of 1,126,000 tons of plant-based products overseas, including grains, grain processing products, vegetable oils, medicinal raw materials, and seeds.
